Generally, the evident of claiming big amount will be

=> Police report
=> Evident of purchase (i.e invoice, record of purchase and so on)

You can print the email between the deal, sale thread and keep a record of purchase as evident. The worst is obtaining the email from seller.
Ive checked with one of my closest friend who specializes in general insurance, most home insurance doesn't cover paper (e.g large stacks of cash), and only a 'percentage of coverage' for precious metals like what andrew said. metals obtained from the secondary market may be an issue.
