Default What SHTF in Bosnia was like

Now think about how much worse it would be in an overpopulated country like Singapore.

Wow that is really something.
Wonder if someone with a lot of gold was able to purchase something like a house or a building or a farm...

Also, I think this situation in Bosnia is too extreme to be taken as standard.
Is the situation of a country in a war (literally).
Most western countries, in a SHTF scenario, won't have a war-like situation going on. There will be turmoil, riots, currency problems and commodity problems, but not a war per se...

It will be much more educational to read something about Argentina's default in 2001 (currency + treasury default) or Russia's crisis 1998 (currency hyperinflation).

Both those SHTF situations lasted less than 12 months, during which the whole country was on sale. After the crisis was passed, economic growth boomed. Holding foreign currencies during the crisis would have allowed amazing investments at penny on the dollar prices, for the brave investors that would have poured capital into it...

This article is an eye opener!
I always wondered how a small country like Singapore with little food production will fare in a situation like Bosnia.

Was reading up on the situation in Venezuela which is undergoing hyperinflation. Scary developments.
