Advisable to pay in cash, though i don't think bank will accept credit card though, anyway they charge 50 HKD for processing fee if you exchanged SGD to HKD

Well from my experience, use cash. I did that with HKD. You can use China RMB also, apparently the exchange rate is favourable. Anyway still favourable lah..no need to pay GST.

Default Hong Kong coin availability in BOC

Hi, has anyone got recent word on whether the banks (BOC or HS) are stocked with gold coins, say canadian maples? Any chance of them running out in the next couple of months?

Usually no problems getting gold Maples from BOC.

You can buy from lpm.hk or kitco.com.hk. they are reputable sellers in Hongkong, central area. Google for their location.

Specifically for Gold Maple coins, I doubt other dealers in HK can match the prices at BOCHK.

Never check recently, but their Gold Maple at BOCHK is more expensive than SG.
