Exclamation Why is Silver not following Gold's Lead?

Any members have any opinions on why the silver spot price is not following gold's record-breaking rise (currently at USD$1771.50) ???

Silver is not cheap gold.

The surge in gold is due to economic uncertainty (maybe the S&P downgrade, definitely the European debt crisis,) causing people to dump assets and flee to safe havens.

Silver has a much larger industrial component than gold. Thus people dumping base metals because of a fear of an economic slowdown reducing demand can apply the same argument to some of silver's demand.

Silver prices are also (historically,) more volatile than gold so it is less reassuring as a safe haven.

Can stack more silver before price actually goes up. Good time to stack before it is too late.

Silver is not going up as fast as people and central banks are jumping into gold right now in a big way and hence, Silver is a little neglected for now. Once gold stablised, I think the attention will go back to silver as they realised the GSR is too high.

Pardon my lack of terminology, what is GSR?

could it possibly be that people view silver as a volatile market and hence going to gold only?

yes definitely one of the best times to load up on ag.
