Voted for kookaburra, my first silver coin and its finish is superb! Btw i am new to this club, so it will be appreciated if someone can enlighten me. The premium for all these different coins varies, even the year of mintage will affect the price. I wonder is it worth it to pay for the higher premiums for certain coins? Are there any advantages (e.g. it's higher in demand hence easier to sell, etc.)? Thanks!

Kooks will be my choice too.. Lower premiums than pandas, more variety of designs and better finishing than ASEs and Maples..

Ive got a 1990 kook in original square capsule for sale. Check out the classified ads. Anyways these are numismatic items. A different sport as compared to bullion collecting/investing.

Just curious, why is it that the Austrian philharmonics have got zero votes? Whats repelling silver bugs from this particular item?
Any members willing to share their opinions?

This is just my personal opinion. I like the Kook before the bird represents life and agility to me. I also have a roll of Phils but I find them very boring - straight lines and all, whilst in my mind, Phils represent music and music is art. So the reality does not match with the concept.

The coins have no ridges, which makes them feel fairly odd. While the design is generally appealing, there is no depth, texture or much detailing in it. If you place a kook and a phil side by side, you will see that the phil looks very blend.

Agreed that the non reeded edge makes it feel weird, but then again with an edge that shiny and smooth, file marks can easily be spotted, thus serving the same purpose as the reeded edge?

And yes, in contrast to a kook, ASE, CSML, panda, the phil is definitely not as appealing visually. BUT....its the cheapest bullion coin around. And if the euro collapses, we may even have numismatic value on these.

Could it also be a possible (lack demand) as its a new coin on the block?

Just sharing some opinions and asking members for their opinions. (Im not supporting phils, i voted for CSML).
