This thread is for those who wish to undertake such risks in order to get a good deal, or buy a particular item not offered locally. I support the idea.

The 2 online dealers which are practically known to everyone are APMEX and Gainesvillecoins. I would also mention KJC bullion from australia. People can also buy directly from perth mint - both bullion and numis and then there is our own Singapore Mint and ebay.

website links below

www.apmex.com

www.singaporemint.com

These are the ones I know ship to Singapore, there might be others that I am not aware of

Thanks for the positive response.

I am very mindful not to offend anybody so I apologize if I have done so unintentionally.

Here are some of the websites I have found online. Perhaps you guys can give them a try as well. Will update this list as I find more reputable sources.

www.aurinum.de
(If you sign up, you will see prices without VAT. I have personally bought alot of my coins from here. Arrived with no fuss and the prices are really affordable. Accepts both wire transfers and credit cards)

www.1oz.si
(Learnt this from another forum. Limited variety but sometimes carry rare coins you cannot find elsewhere. Be prepared to pay a premium for it. Also accepts credit cards which I prefer)

http://www.atkinsonsthejewellers.com/
(Haven't tried this source yet but their 1oz 2013 Lunar Snake is quite affordable. Also carries other gold coins/silver bars not found in Singapore. Shipping can be quite prohibitive so ask them for a quote first)

http://www.guernseymint.com/
(I've been eyeing this website for awhile now and they finally offer international shipping at really affordable rates. Hoping to get some Guernesey silver coins and also some metalor/umicore silver bars)

Default round 2

Some more online dealers I have come across:

http://www.bullionbourse.com/
(Lots of variety. Apparently run by a few students but stackers on another forum have strongly vouched for them. Think I came across an old thread of a fellow stacker here buying his lunar dragon coins from them as well)

https://www.bullionlist.com.au/
(They just brought in their Heraeus gold bars with the hologram mark. Also carry other items like the geiger silver bars)

http://bullionmoney.com.au/
(They carry some rare items here and there. Currently having 1/10 gold lunar tiger coins)

http://www.moderncoinmart.com/store/
Recently bought something from here. You should see how they package their coins! (In a good way). Ordered on 23 march, came on 4 April. Quick delivery!

Thanks for sharing. It is not offensive at all... As someone used to say, sharing is caring..

Saw some nice pricing on canadian polar, noah's ark, and 2013 britannia.. just not sure on the shipping.

How about the local dealers? I find that many overseas online dealers may have cheaper costs on the metals but unless you're ordering large quantities you lose out on shipping costs.

http://www.1silver1.com/
Carry Scottsdale products, although they have GST

https://www.bullionstar.com/
I like the convenience of their vault grams, paper silver but useful to capture drops in spot

http://www.sgcoins.com/
http://www.goldsilvercentral.com.sg/
No introduction necessary

I know these aren't online dealers per se as they have physical offices here but I think it's useful for newbies buying a few coins as there isn't shipping charges.

shipping varies..
can be between 50c per ounce to 3$ per ounce.. depending on the number of orders.. the place.. the insurance.. etc.etc..

the risk these days on online dealer is whether
1. they arrive
2. they are taxed accordingly..

Thanks for pointing it out bro. That's why I mentioned in my post that some stackers would be more than willing to take on that risk as they feel its cheaper for them versus buying from here. Not to mention that having it delivered straight to your home also adds to the convenience instead of having to schedule a meetup.

These work well for small purchases as they benefit from lesser shipping fees and avoid GST as well. You can try to find that sweet spot playing with the no. of coins so that you get the best shipping fee per coin while avoiding GST.

Here's an example from aurinum.de for their polar bear coins:

4 coins + shipping + paypal fee = 154.72 euros = around 62 SGD per coin
