http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency

Most cryptocurrencies are designed to gradually introduce new units of currency, placing an ultimate cap on the total amount of currency that will ever be in circulation. This is done both to mimic the scarcity (and value) of precious metals and to avoid hyperinflation.[6][7] As a result, such cryptocurrencies tend to experience hyperdeflation as they grow in popularity and the amount of the currency in circulation approaches this finite cap.

looks like the trend is... when one cryptocurrency hits maturity people will flock to new cryptocurrency...? It's exactly like online gaming... when you join late in the game most players are of higher levels thus you find it difficult to farm/kill. So you go create your new room for new players or you simply drop this game and start a different game

Hyperdeflationary against what? Fiat currency or goods and services? If cryptocurrency hyperdeflat against goods and services, this mean goods/services hyperinflat in cryptocurrency terms. Not good. If cryptocurrency hyperdeflat against fiat currencies, this means goods/services super-hyperinflat in cryptocurrency terms, that's worse. How can cryptocurrencies function as sound money if hyperdeflation is intentionally built into them? Or I interpret the meaning of hyperdeflation incorrectly?
