Ahead of the Herd
Because of the worst drought since 1988 the U.S. Department of Agriculture declared a federal disaster area in almost one-third of all the counties in the United States - more than 1,300 counties covering 29 states, the largest disaster declaration ever made by the USDA. Only in the 1930s and 1950s has a drought covered more land. The United States Drought Monitor shows 88 percent of corn, and 87 percent of soybean crops are in drought-stricken regions. http://aheadoftheherd.com/Newsletter...ood-Report.htm

Already happened on the supermarket shelves. The other day we bought a packet of tofu which used to cost us S$0.80. Now it is priced at S$1.20, an increase of S$0.40.

My source for "cheaper" formula milk for my kids just increased their Usual Price by $4.90 for the 1.8kg can (Gain IQ).
They are still currently selling at last weeks price, but that price is now listed as a special offer. I guess once their current stock is cleared, the new Usual Price will take effect. |
