Just curious. I know there are many coin collectors in this forum. Be it bullion to semi-numis to numis. Proof or BU.
But how many are focusing on Cast/Poured bars? Or am I the only silly one spending premiums collecting bars? Maybe can share your collections in this thread?

Both of you only buy big bars? I assume the reason is because of low premium rather than love for cast? Cos premium for small ones is as high as or even might be higher than semi-numis coins. So maybe for that premium, you'll rather go for coins?

think anlok, ure the only one actively collecting cast/handpoured here in GCA.
As a general newbie in stacking, I like the imperfections of a handpoured bar but cant bring myself to paying the premium for it, at least for now!

Very true. Paying high premium for an 'imperfect" bar is indeed contradicting. Cast/poured bars are like abstract art. More difficult to source for buyers who knows how to appreciate their "nude" beauty compared to numis coins. What I like about them is not only limited to their rugged beauty but also their "mintage". Super low at only "one & only one" in the world

Gold cast bars used to be cheaper than minted bars. At least that was true some years ago.
GSC's Pamp 100g cast is priced higher than the minted. Not sure why the reverse in pricing now. Same for Perth Mint 1oz cast and minted. Bro anlok, you are not the only cast/raw/nude lover; LGL sure is another cast siow kai . . . . ![]() As far as gold and silver are concerned, I like the raw look and feel of cast bars as they are closer in appearance to those little *natural occurring gold nuggets on the river beds . . . . kekekekeke . . . . Have always wanted to buy one . . . . ![]() *gold appears in many different forms. The most turn-off for me is those minted bars in certicards . . . . look unnatural and can't feel the ENERGY of GOLD ![]() |
