Newbie....Hello to all...
Hiya...
Newbie here I hope to learn more from the gurus/sifus here.... Totally new in precious metals....but been dealing with base metals since 2003....(hedging and little speculations) I would like to start investing/collecting in gold maybe some silver this year on...middle to long term... Where and how should I start? 1) what oz (gold /silver) to get for easy to trade? 2) what are the Dos and Donts.. 3) how to store these precious (home) and maintaining them. 4) etc.... Cheers

1. Bigger the denomination (in oz), lower the premiums. But it also means more difficult to offload when it comes to cashing out. For gold I stick with 1oz, and for silver max 5oz.
2. Remember to compare price before you part with your cash. 3. There is a thread on PM storage... Search for it. Warm welcome to you and enjoy your stay

Observe or study the spot prices a fair bit before plunging in
a few dollars could go a long way

hehe no one can give you any accurate advise... we learn as we buy/sell more.
Nowadays I pretty much buy physical metals only on those I fancy their designs...

Welcome to GCA . . . . . as usual, I will still say do spend some time reading the old threads/posts. Members here discuss different topics (relating to PMs) at different point in time. What's not being discussed in the past 1 month doesn't mean they are out of scope. Likewise what was discussed 1 year ago may still be very relevant. Its worth your time. Enjoy your stay here.
